Lions and Tigers and Bears

Oh my! Well no tigers and bears and the lions were sleeping (except for the one pictured above), but we did get to see a lot of other animals at our trip to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. I had never been there but I heard they had a new baby elephant so we packed a lunch and headed into the city.
Carter wore his elephant shirt for the occasion

We had a nice morning at the zoo and saw many animals. We even got to feed the giraffes!

Here are some of the other animals we got to see...

And the elephants:

Samson the baby elephant!
They had a carousel at the zoo so we had to ride it, surprise, surprise!
TWICE!!

The Beach

We spent 2 weekends this July down at Bethany Beach with Nana and PopPop (Nick's parents). We had a great time and especially enjoyed going on the boardwalk rides in Ocean City and Rehobeth. Here are some of the best shots!

Our Little Airplane Pilot

Bumper Boats

The Tram with Nana and PopPop

We did spend time at the beach too I guess I just didn't take any pictures. We also got to see one of Nick's college friends and his family, we had a great time!

4th of July

This was our first 4th of July that Nick and I took Carter to see the fireworks. The 4th of July has always been a special day for Nick and I because it was when we had our first date (in 1997! Can you believe it?)
We started with a morning swim, in our red, white, and blue bathing suit of course!

I wanted to do some fun things with Carter to get ready for the big day so I planned some projects.
The first was to make a windsock, I got everything ready while he was napping and we had fun making it together.

The second thing we did was decorate his tricycle for a "4th of July parade" (of one). It was still fun.

I also made red (Kool-Aid) and blue (Powerade) ice cubes to put in drinks of water or Sprite.
Nick got some sparklers (which Carter did burn his finger on) that were fun for the whole family. Nick's parents and grandmother came up for a cookout and we played with some more sparklers and bubbles (of course!)

We had a great 4th of July as Nick and I celebrated 11 years together!!

Summer Fun

We have been busy this summer (as you can see) but it is hard being home with a 2 and 1/2 year old all the time, I give credit to all those moms who stay home. Finding activities to keep these guys busy is not easy and finding activities that are cheap or free is even harder. I have done my best to keep this very busy toddler, busy this summer. Here are some of the things we have done:

Played in the pool

Rode our scooter

Played with the spray ball

Got new goggles

Played in our Crabbie Sandbox

Of all the things we have done this summer I think our biggest accomplishment was getting potty trained!! Yep, Carter is officially potty trained no more diapers, no more pull-ups not even at night!! We did it!!! (it wasn't soooo bad)

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to...

On our way up to the lake Nick and I took Carter to Sesame Place. It is a Sesame Street themed amusement park just outside of Philadelphia in Langhorne PA. We had so much fun despite the hot weather and the crowds.

Riding the new Carousel

Meeting Big Bird, Elmo, Bert and Ernie, and Oscar the Grouch. This was Carter's favorite thing, to meet the characters. I thought he was going to be afraid of them but he LOVED them and wanted to find all of them!

Big Bird's Beach party show

Bouncing on Ernie's Bed

There is also a water park side to Sesame Place, but we used a water camera to take those pictures, as soon as I get them back I will update this post!

The Lake

We spent last week at the Lake House in upstate New York, the Adirondacks to be exact. We had a great relaxing week with just us and Nick's cousin Jack.

Jack
Carter had fun
Blowing Bubbles

Taking boat rides

Riding the jet ski

and taking pictures of Mommy!

We also spent time playing Wii Bowling (in our underwear of course!)

We had a great time!

We played hard and slept hard (even if we had to fight it!)

Next adventure...A Pirate Ship!!
