It's Raining!

Yes it did rain the past couple of days, but what i am referring to is the 2 wonderful showers that were thrown for me in the past couple of weeks. The first was a shower that my good friend Keri threw me at school with many of my co-workers attending. My co-workers were truly very generous with the gifts that they got for me and my new baby girl. It was unbelievable!

The second shower was given to me by my sister at Clyde's in Columbia. My sister invited my closest friends to lunch yesterday and I enjoyed hanging out with some friends that I don't see that often. My friends were also incredibly generous with gifts and my baby girl will be the best dressed baby on the block.
Thank you to everyone who made these days so special and helped to celebrate the new addition to our family!
PS Check out the number left on the ticker 17 days! Where has the time gone?!?!?!

I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up!

Fortunately I could get up, but it did give me quite a scare. Yesterday afternoon I fell into the garage while taking out the recycling. It all happened so fast that I am not quite sure exactly what happened but the end result was me, on my butt, on the garage floor. After a few tearful conversations with Nick he and my mom convinced me that I should call the doctor just to be on the safe side. This resulted in a trip to the hospital, a very long trip.
It was very official. I was in an actual delivery room, in the gown, hooked up to all the monitors. I think it freaked Nick out a little bit when he came back into the room and it looked like I was about to have a baby. After being hooked up to the monitors for a little while we realized that I was having contractions about every 2-4 minutes. We started to get a little worried. Turns out I was a little dehydrated and by the time I left (around midnight) they had mostly stopped and were not as regular.
Turns out everything is fine, I am fine (except for a sore foot, which no one seemed too concerned about last night) the baby is fine. And really that is all that matters.
Only 3 more weeks to go!

The Double Stroller!

My new Sit N' Stand double stroller came today. I have been looking and looking for one that I have liked since we found out we were having a second baby. I finally found one on amazon.com and Nick ordered it right away. We were graciously given this as a gift for Christmas by Nick's parents. Just two days later there it is on my front step! I put it together right away!

It is a large stroller, I am not used to how long it is, but I am pretty sure it is not as big as the Graco Duo Glider or some of the other tandem double strollers that are out there. And as you can see Carter already likes it (I pushed him around the house in it!) It is infant car seat compatible and it is light green and silver in color. I think we will get a lot of use out of this stroller and it will come in handy when Carter just can't walk anymore or fast enough for me! I do think I would also like to have a side-by-side double stroller for when the baby is older so they can both see the same things at the same times, but those are a bit more expensive so we will have to see about that one!

School Days!

Carter has been LOVING school, he is so excited on Tuesday's and Thursday's because they are school days. While I don't have any pictures from his actual time at school, this is what I usually get on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at home...

School wears us out! Because school is from 12:30-3:00pm he doesn't get his nap on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Needless to say on those two nights he is out like a light by 7:30pm!

Throwback Thursday!

My 2 Angels!

I don't remember anyone being this tiny (his head fits in his hand!) I can't believe the next one is coming so soon!

30 Days and Counting!

So I guess my official countdown has begun, again it seems like yesterday that I was writing only 50 days to go and now 20 more days have gone by! I have been horrible about taking belly pictures (although I didn't take too many of me and Carter either). I only have about 2 1/2 weeks of work left (11 days but who is counting) and we are moving along in the preparations department. Nick set the crib back up and we rearranged the nursery. We didn't end up painting and it looks very cute (I will be getting a new bedspread for the bed we have decided to leave in the room for the time being). So the crib is set up complete with bedding and I have washed my 0-3 month clothes. We still need to install the car seats and purchase some new baby girl things. My school is having a shower for me next Monday so that should be fun and my sister is taking me and a few girlfriends out for brunch on the 29th. I am about to start my weekly appointments with the doctor and that usually makes the time fly by! So wish us luck in the next couple of weeks and I will update as we complete more tasks! (I will try to get nursery pictures up tonight!)
Here they are! (I didn't take pictures of the bed in the room, it has a bright blue comforter on it that doesn't go with the room)

I know it is still kind of bare, but we haven't put anything on the walls yet, baby steps!

Baby Justin!

Last weekend we took a trip up to New Jersey to visit the newest member of our family, Justin Michael. He is adorable! Carter had a great time visiting with his Aunt Michele, Uncle Vince, and new cousin Justin. We had a nice but short visit because Carter woke up Sunday morning with a croup-like cough so we decided to head home early and not risk giving a 2 week old croup. But before we left Carter had fun on the swings with Uncle Vince:

and he got to hold his new baby cousin!

Here is a picture of the new family!

Updates, Updates, Updates!

I was beginning to think I was very boring, but there are a few new posts below! I just needed to get the pictures off of the camera. Enjoy!

1st Day of School!

Today was Carter's first day of school at Grace Episcopal Church school. I was a little sad that I wasn't there to take him to school I think it was for the best because he went right in to school with no fuss at all and had a great day! Our daycare lady, Jeanne's son Matthew is also going to the school with Carter so she is taking them both and picking them up. He had a great day and had a lot of fun! He mixed colors for science (yellow + blue = green), finger painted green diamonds, listened to a story, and had a snack of yogurt and milk. He said he listened to his teacher Ms. Amy and she was very nice. I am so relieved that he had a good day at school and wants to go back! Every year on my first day of school my dad took pictures of me and my sister standing in front of the front door, so I did the same with Carter today. (if you go to my parents house there is a big frame with pictures of me on my first day of school from preschool all the way to 12th grade!) Here is my big boy on his first day of preschool!

All ready with his shark backpack!
Inside the door (it was COLD today)

Another Snow Day!

Yesterday we had another snow day and Daddy even got a snow 1/2 day! It actually snowed about 6-7 inches. We ate a yummy breakfast together and then went outside and played in the snow. It was COLD!!! Daddy had gone to Walmart on Sunday and bought a new sled in anticipation of the snow (good thing he didn't jinx it!!)
I took more video than I did pictures so again I will try to upload soon, but here are the shots I got of the boys playing in the snow!

Sledding down the hill in our new sled!

Wow Wow Everyone Carter is 3!

On February 21st we had Carter's 3rd birthday party at PlayWise Kids. We invited 10 of his friends to come and play at his Wow Wow Wubbzy themed party. (For those of you who don't know Wubbzy it is Carter's favorite TV show and can be seen on Nick Jr. and Noggin. Carter does an AMAZING dance to the theme song that I will try to upload soon!) The kids had a fantastic time and we had pizza for lunch and a Wow Wow Wubbzy cupcake cake for dessert. Carter got spoiled again with tons of gifts from friends and family. His big gift this year from Nick and I was a big boy bike. Here are some pictures of the party (I know there are more, better pictures out there but I haven't gotten them yet)

I'm an Aunt (again!)

On February 16th (just 5 days shy of his due date) my nephew Justin Michael was born. He was 7 pounds 7 ounces and 19 inches long. He is adorable and while Nick was able to get up to New Jersey to visit the new addition to our family and congratulate the new parents (his brother and our sister-in-law) Carter and I have yet to meet him. We are planning a visit up to New Jersey this weekend to meet the new bundle of joy. Here are some pictures of Justin in the hospital:
